World Aids Day 2020

  • 1 min read

December 1 is World AIDS Day, a day that calls on global leaders and citizens to rally for “global solidarity” to maintain essential HIV services during COVID 19 and beyond. Researchers are currently investigating whether people with HIV have an increased risk of poor outcomes with COVID-19. Preliminary evidence of a moderate increased vulnerability of people with HIV makes it even more urgent that people with HIV have access to necessary resources.

At Lucky Iron Fish Enterprises (LIFe), we also recognize that people with HIV-infections and AIDS are more prone to having iron deficiency anemia. This is why we are proud to work alongside organizations such as Sahara Aalhad who deliver comprehensive services including nutrition, mentoring, and advocacy for people living with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, with specialized services for widows and children.

With over 2.1 million people in India living with HIV/AIDS, it is the 3rd largest epidemic in the country. Working with local partners allows LIFe to serve communities that are in need with practical solutions to improve their health and well-being.
