International Women's Day 2020

  • 1 min read

#InternationalWomensDay is a reminder of women's contributions to our society and how far we have come in our fight for equality. Throughout the world, we have seen not only conversations & movements take place like never before, but we have also seen meaningful change!

Yet it is important to remember that not a single country has achieved gender equality. (@UnitedNations)

Did you know that:
♀︎ even today, malnutrition is more common in women than men
♀︎ 40% of all maternal deaths are directly or indirectly associated with iron deficiency (a consequence of malnutrition)
♀︎ during food scarcity, such as poverty or natural disasters, women are more likely to suffer from malnutrition
♀︎ nutrition is one of the key components in determining one's socio-economic well being
♀︎ iron deficiency contributes to up to 20% loss of income

This is why we always say, iron deficiency is not a "women's problems" - it is a global problem. 🌎

#IWD2020 is a great reminder of all that we have achieved so far. It is an even greater reminder of the opportunity we have to continue working towards a world where all women and girls have equality. 💪🏻Let's do this!
